TLDR: Tony was AMAZING!! He was punctual and informative. His vehicle was comfortable and his driving skills are safe and impressive. His car was clean. AND he is very friendly and warm towards adults and kids alike!

We hired Tony Costa Rica to drive us (family of 4 with two young kids) from San Jose to La Forunta (with a detour to Dinoland) and again from La Fortuna to San Jose. He was speedy at communicating before and during our trip to ensure the trip was as expected.

Tony went above and beyond. He was easy and comfortable to be with and made frequent pit stops to show us the best of local cousine and to show us wild animals that he spotted from the car.

He gave us the option to control the music via Spotify (although we let him decide and his playlist was excellent). Tony also has phone chargers, WiFi, a cooler in the trunk and booster seats do the kids.

It was such a gift to be able to trust him with the driving and pit stops so we could sit back and relax for the journey. Thanks for a great trip, Tony!

Bonus:

Animals he spotted roadside: coatis, a toucanette, leaf cutter ants, turkey vultures, and other birds.

Food we stopped for: fresas con chocolate, iced coconut coffee, chocolate chip cookies, chicarrones and sweet potato empanada.

Tony clearly loves his job and is amazing at being a private driver / tour guide. We would recommend him to anyone visiting Costa Rica!

We booked a trip to Carara National Park with Tony and he brought Lucia with as the guide. Can’t say enough about the experience. We went to a few other places at the same time. He even took us to his favorite Empanada comida

I can’t say enough great things about Tony—he is hands down the most amazing driver I’ve ever met! His knowledge and consideration went above and beyond. He picked up our group of eight in a spacious van that comfortably fit us and all of our excessive luggage.

On our drive from SJO to Jaco, the birthday boy mentioned how disappointed he was that no one else wanted to see the crocodiles or visit “Bin Laden.” Without hesitation, Tony made a pit stop for us to enjoy some of the most delicious fruit I’ve ever tasted and, even better, stopped so my friend could see and photograph the crocodiles. It was the highlight of his trip—he talked about it all weekend!

The entire ride flew by thanks to Tony’s great energy, sense of humor, and genuine friendliness. If I ever find myself back in Costa Rica, I will absolutely be reaching out to Tony again. Highly recommend!

We did an ATV tour and a full day River raft and Sloth Sanctuary tour and I wish we had done more. Tony and his team were punctual and professional. They are so knowledgeable that we were constantly learning about this amazing country as we traveled through various parts. I cannot recommend Tony and his team enough.

We booked Tony for our transportation from San Jose Airport to our hotel in La Fortuna. He was already at the airport when we arrived and made our long drive such a fun one. We stopped at a few local places for some lunch and snacks along the way to make the drive a lot easier. Anyone who is looking for a personal driver with a large van, we STRONGLY suggest Tony!
